Online Case Study
Western Technical College is a technical school whose primary purpose is to train people who will be capable of successfully pursuing a career in their chosen field.
WTC added the Performance Tuner Program to its list of careers and needed a different marketing approach that would appeal to 18-24 year olds. An independent website was developed and a short two minute video clip was produced for the website involving local car clubs to participate in the filming of the video. The website was then promoted using outdoor advertising. First, billboards with the text "coming soon" were placed 3 weeks prior to releasing the website. After the 3 weeks, the text "coming soon" was replaced with the web address. The website in its first month received over 6,000 hits and was then promoted within blog and forum sites.
