The holiday season is prime time for sweets and treats. As such, we thought it’d be a great idea to highlight a recipe from AGI Marketing’s very own baking expert, Julian Avila! Gingerbread cookies are instantly recognizable, and their delicious crunch and Christmas-time taste are the perfect representation for this time of year. Welcome the Holiday season into your home by baking these delectable treats!
Ingredients
- 3 Cups Flour (I use Unbleached Flour)
- 1 1/2 Teaspoons Baking Powder
- 3/4 Teaspoon Baking Soda
- 1/4 Teaspoon Salt
- 1 Tablespoon Ginger
- 1 3/4 Teaspoons Cinnamon
- 1/4 Teaspoon Cloves
- 6 Tablespoons Butter
- 3/4 Cup Brown Sugar
- 1 Egg (Large)
- 1/2 Cup Molasses
- 2 Teaspoons Vanilla Extract
Recipe
- Mix Flour, Soda, Powder, Salt, Ginger, Cinnamon & Cloves in one bowl
- In another bowl (I use my KitchenAid) Mix Butter, Brown Sugar, Egg, Molasses & Vanilla
- Add dry ingredients and continue to mix until blended
- Wrap dough in plastic wrap and let sit for 3-4 hours (cut dough in half)
- Preheat oven to 375
- Roll dough out on flour surfaced & use rolling pin until dough is about 1/4 inches (you can use more flour if needed to avoid sticking)
- Use gingerbread cookie cutter and place on the cooking tray with parchment paper
- Bake 8-10 minutes (keep any eyes after the first batch because they will cook faster and prevent burning)
- Let them cool and you can use preferred icing to decorate or sprinkle with powdered sugar
- Enjoy!
