3 Anticipated SEO Trends for 2022

Modern Workplace with Laptop showing Landing Page with SEO - Search Engine Optimization It’s hard to believe that the new year is just a couple of weeks away. As we approach 2018, it’s important to think about how our search engine optimization strategies will change, evolve, and adapt once the clock strikes midnight. If you’re not already on the SEO boat, you’re a bit behind. But don’t worry. Knowing these highly anticipated SEO trends that are expected to make waves in 2018 will help you get back in the game.

Trend #1:  UX/UI

With the rise of technology comes the demand for an easy to read and use technology experience. User experience and user interface both contribute to this ease of technology use. But what does this have to do with SEO? Well, quite a lot. Google bases its website ranking system on multiple factors, including user experience. Google puts all of the focus on the user, so you want to be sure your website is as user-friendly as possible and this includes optimizing for desktops, tablets, and mobile devices. So when it comes to your website, be sure your interface, content, videos, and graphics are all optimized for the user.

Trend #2: SERP Features

The search engine results page is a part of the Google search that displays search results and incorporates features, such as snippets, graphics, and videos into Google searches. For example, if you were to look up a celebrity, to your right, you’d see a snapshot of their bio, including their age, marital status, pictures, and a list of the movies, TV shows, books, and music they’ve worked on. You’ll also see snippets and panels of some of the most viewed, newest, and most reputable links appear. It’s important to monitor what links of yours show up on the search engine results page and what snapshots are taking away from your possible clicks, so you can stay on top of the game.

Trend #3: Digital Assistants

“Alexa, play my workout playlist.” This line probably feels familiar because of all the Alexa and Google Assistant commercials we’ve had lately with the holidays just around the corner, but digital assistants, with their voice search technology, are changing the playing field for SEO. Some ways your SEO techniques can accommodate include using a more natural language, rather than being specific or technical and putting an emphasis on long tail keywords and phrases in your content.

Born and raised in Senegal, West Africa, my love for diverse cultures and adventure led me to the U.S. 16 years ago. From kickstarting my college journey at Harrisburg Community College in Pennsylvania to earning my Bachelor’s in Communication Studies with a minor in Public Relations and a Master’s in Marketing Intelligence at Towson University in Maryland, it’s been a fun ride!

Now, picture this: an avid chatterbox with an outgoing personality – that’s me! AGI turned out to be the perfect match, where I blend my creativity with strategic expertise, crafting campaigns that contribute to the success of diverse industries. It’s not just about elevating one business; it’s about orchestrating success across various fields.

After growing up in the Finger Lakes region of upstate NY (Garbage Plate region) and being an artsy athlete at school, I went to college for Graphic Design and to play lacrosse. After graduating from RIT I’ve moved everywhere – Oklahoma, Texas, Cali, Nevada, and back home to New York. I’ve always loved exploring new places, but the Finger Lakes is where I want to settle down – there is truly no place like it.

Working in digital marketing gives you that new place mindset – it’s always changing, and I’ve loved this job because of that. I love celebrating the wins with employees and client success.

I spent half of my childhood growing up in Nashville and the second half in Chicago. Right out of high school, I joined the Army where I learned a lot about growth. I got out of the Army in 1997 and started my own company that became AGI Marketing. We began as a graphics and vehicle wrap company, but as I saw the world start to shift to digital and the need to be online, we transformed into a digital agency.

We have grown considerably since that shift. I am obsessed with growth – for my staff, family, the company, and myself, and we love being able to help businesses grow. Outside of the office, I have five children, three grandchildren, and a wonderful wife. I am very involved in my Christian church and enjoy traveling!
